Using my article as an example, below are the steps -

1. create a parameter called storage_account_name in the ADF you want to trigger;

2. create a variable in the ADF

3. drag and drop Set Variable activity in ADF canvas

4. In Set Variable activity, under value section, click 'Add dynamic content' and then select the storage_account_name parameter.

Your parameter's value will be assigned to a variable.
